Yeo Siew Hua

Yeo Siew Hua’s A LAND IMAGINED (2018) won the Golden Leopard grand prize at the 71st Locarno Film Festival and is Singapore’s entry to the Academy Awards (Oscars) 2020. The film also received multiple top awards for Best Picture at a number of festivals, including at the 29th Singapore International Film Festival. His films have crossed platforms outside of cinema spaces, and were exhibited at venues like the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York and the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in Taipei. He is part of the autonomous art group soft/Wall/studs and also a founding member of the film collective, 13 Little Pictures, which produced his debut fiction film, IN THE HOUSE OF STRAW (2009), and music documentary, THE OBS: A SINGAPORE STORY (2014). Yeo studied film at Ngee Ann Polytechnic and graduated in Philosophy from the National University of Singapore.
