Danqing graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the National University of Singapore in Communications and New Media and a Minor in Film Studies. Her interests in Hong Kong and Asian cinemas prompted her to pursue a 4-months student exchange in the School of Creative Media at the City University of Hong Kong, studying mainly documentary filmmaking. To inspire young filmmakers, she organized and led a 55-hour short film competition (Point & Shoot 2020) in partnership with SCAPE National Youth Film Awards and was awarded the Tan Tan Kiam Arts Awards in 2021.
